This past weekend’s unseasonably high temperatures didn’t warrant jumping into the still frigid waters of Twin Lakes in Palatine, Illinois, but the chance to support Special Olympics Illinois certainly did.
The seven member team of the Tovar Winter Warriors took to the water in various attire for the 2016 Polar Plunge this past Sunday. Each team member was challenged to raise a minimum of $100 all for the chance to take a leap into an icy lake.
All proceeds collected from the plunge benefit the 22,000 traditional athletes and 21,000 young athletes of Special Olympics Illinois. Tovar Snow Professionals was proud to contribute almost $2000 for the cause! Thank you to the friends, organizations, family members, and colleagues who supported our efforts! Please enjoy these images of us “freezin’ for a reason!”
The Polar Plunge, presented by Law Enforcement Torch Run and GEICO, is a unique opportunity to support Special Olympics athletes by taking a flying leap into the frigid waters of an Illinois lake. Polar Plunges are taking place all over the state from February 19th to March 20th in 21 different Illinois locations!
